Before you get started, make sure you have all your tools and cleaning solutions ready!

Your slip solution (i.e. soapy water) will be used throughout the installation. Mix 3-4 drops of Dawn® dish soap in the bottle provided (~500 mL) to prep the slip solution.
Prepare a 3:1 solution (3 parts water, 1 part alcohol) to remove any coatings (e.g. ceramic coatings, Rain-X solution, etc.) from the windshield.

Yes! Protecting your windshield in the winter is especially important with all the extra debris on the roads. ExoShield ULTRA can be installed in any climate, but there are a few precautions you should take when the weather is cold. Ensuring you have a warm space to install and store your vehicle for a short period of time will be key to a high-quality installation. Make sure to check out this video for our top 3 things to watch for when installing your kit in winter.
Yes, we recommend that you remove any coatings or Rain-X on the windshield before installing ExoShield ULTRA using an alcohol-based solution (3 parts water, 1 part isopropyl alcohol). This will help to prevent any unwanted distortion or compromises to the optical quality of the film. If you'd like to apply coatings to ExoShield after it's installed, check out this blog post to see which ones we recommend.
A clean and contaminant-free windshield is essential for getting a high quality installation. We suggest thoroughly cleaning the windshield glass and all gaskets thoroughly before application. You will also want to make sure the space around you is clean and as dust-free as possible. For detailed cleaning instructions, please refer to Step 1 in the video.
ExoShield ULTRA kits were designed to fit OEM and OEE windshields. In most cases, they should be compatible with aftermarket windshields, but there may be some cases where the aftermarket windshield is significantly different and will not be compatible with the kit. We do not guarantee compatibility of ExoShield ULTRA kits with non-OEM windshields.
ExoShield ULTRA was designed to give you a quick and pain-free installation experience, but we get that sometimes things go wrong!
We strongly recommend going through the step-by-step instructional video to help you through some of the harder steps. If you can't find what you're looking for, or get stuck mid-installation, email help@getexoshield.com or refer to your purchase confirmation email to speak with someone on the team.
ExoShield ULTRA can take between 10-30 minutes to install from start to finish. This will also depend on your past experience working with film and whether or not you have someone to help you (we recommend a second set of hands to make things easier).
